“One Less” Victim

On November 23, 2006, Merck announced the launch of a new advertising campaign for their cervical cancer vaccine - Gardasil. The theme for their campaign – “One Less.”

According to Merck, the Gardasil vaccine is recommended for females between the ages of 9 and 26 years of age to help prevent cervical cancer caused by four types of HPV virus, but “may not fully protect everyone.” Additionally, Merck states that possible side effects for Gardasil may involve “injection site-pain, -swelling, -itching and -redness as well as fever, dizziness or nausea.” Otherwise, according to Merck, the CDC and the FDA, Gardasil is safe.

There is, however, a growing debate in the medical and legal communities, and especially among parents of once young, vibrant and healthy daughters, who after receiving the Gardasil vaccination became seriously ill or died, that perhaps the drug is not as safe as everyone first thought.

According to a CBS New Report investigation by Sharyl Attkisson’s concerning Gardasil (August 19, 2009), even one of Merck’s own designers of their safety and effectiveness studies for Gardasil, Dr. Diane Harper, is suggesting that parents and young girls be given more warnings about Gardasil.

VAERS - Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, one of the three systems used to monitor vaccine safety, is also concerned that the reported cases of side effects from the Gardasil vaccine suggests the drug may cause serious health problems in some patients. The FDA, however, believes the VAERS data concerning possible side effects from the Gardasil vaccine is unreliable because there is “no proven causal association between the vaccine and the adverse event” reported. Further, that of the 28 million doses of Gardasil distributed (in the U.S.), “only” 8% of the “adverse events following Gardasil vaccination” were considered serious.

For anyone who believes they or a loved one has suffered serious side effects from the Gardasil vaccine, “8%” is too high!

Possible serious side effects from the Gardasil vaccine may include:

  • Autoimmune Myofasciitis

  • Blood Clots

  • Menigitis

  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome

  • Brain Damage

  • ALS - Lou Gehrig’s Disease

  • Death
