Metro North Commuter Train Crash - Passengers Injured
Metro North Commuter Train collided with a SUV near New York City on February 3, 2015. The SUV involved in the Metro North train accident apparently became stuck on the tracks in between the train crossing gates. As a result of the Metro-North train crashing into the SUV and catching fire, six passengers in the first train car were killed and many other passengers were injured. The driver of the SUV was also killed as a result of the train accident in Valhalla, New York.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, will be reviewing train event recorders and video as part of their investigation into this Metro-North train accident.
